The Westminster Place Kitchen Rules
Distilled by Elaine May and Theodore Flicker, with the St. Louis Compass Players
1. Never Deny Reality
If another player establishes something as real, the other players cannot negate it. Characters may disagree with each other, but players must play together.
2. Take the Active Choice
Whenever a player is faced with a decision during a scene or game, they should always make the choice which will lead to more action.
3. Wear Each Character as a Thin Veil
Your character is not you, but it is a version of you. Choices based in lived experience are richer and lead to more honesty.
