Ok so
the poetry's nice
but maybe this'll be nice too?
I've been Getting Over a Lot of Stuff over the last few years. 6 or 8 years. of profoundly unrewarding and entirely invisible work. If you ever hear me talk about Falling Towers and Fields Choked With Stone there's a very strong chance I'm referring to this period of my life. It's characterized by the backbreaking labor of making dead soil rich again, and clearing out weeds such that they won't grow back this time. It's coming home dirty and tired and not sure anything actually happened. It's trusting that change is incremental and that it can be done on purpose. It's learning to feel like I really can actually just kinda trust myself.
I feel like I'm finally moving into the phase of my life where I can start building up again. I really hope this foundation is as solid as I think it is because shit goddamn I do not want to do that again.
